Your gut is amazingly intuitive and omniscient. Your gut brain has similar numbers of neurons as your “traditional brain” and 95% of the body’s overall serotonin (that’s the hormone that makes you peacefully happy) is in the gut. Since that is the case, it makes sense that the gut effects how you respond to things in the moment as well as how happy you are.
